Cake Decorating

I took two courses in cake decorating offered at Micheals, which included decorating with buttercream, fondant, and gum paste.

Supervised by a senior scientist in the immunology & inflammation dept.

• Experimented on types of media that would allow E. coli to grow more quickly without having to innoculate the media. At the end of the summer I presented my findings to the entire department.
• The media I tested may be patented by the company.

• I was always very friendly to the customers and employers.
• I stayed after closing to make sure the restaurant was clean for the next morning.
• I took on extra hours when someone needed me to fill in and I am available.

From my previous job, I learned more about the hospitality business. I feel comfortable dealing with tight situations in the restaurant business. I feel that I am very sociable and friendly.

I have become very comfortable with customer service as well as suggestively selling products that certain people would be interested in. I also have become very knowledgeable about animal nutrition and how to aid certain ailments with food and supplements. I am a key-holder in charge of both opening and closing the store, and also became in charge of ordering the food for the store.
